Given:
P(A) = 0.55
P(B) = 0.3
∴P(Bc) = 1-0.3 = 0.7
P(Ac) = 1-0.55= 0.45
Since A and B are disjoint (mutually exclusive)
∴A ⊆ Bc and B ⊆ Ac
∴ A ∪ Bc = Bc and B ∪ Ac = Ac
(a)P(A ∪ Bc) = P(Bc) =0.7
(b) P(Ac ∪ B) = P(Ac) = 0.45

asked 05/10/21If A and B are two mutually exclusive events, and P(A) = 0.55, P(B) = 0.3, then find:
a. P(A U 𝐵𝑐)
b. P(𝐴𝑐 ∩ B)
