the polynomial t^2 + 4z^2 is actually not factorable with real solutions.
If, by chance, you're doing imaginary numbers (if you don't know what the symbol "i" means, ignore this section completely), you can factor that by saying t^2 - (-4z^2)
This factors into (t - 2iz)(t + 2iz)
