a) P(A and B) = 0.6(.8) =P(A)P(B) = 0.48 = 48% if independent
b) P(A/B) = 0.5 P(A and B)= P(A/B)/P(B)= .5/.8 = 0.625 = 62.5% A and B are not independent, but almost.
