Dwight bought 2 pieces of fudge and ten pieces of bubblegum for a total of $3.60 What is the price of one piece of fudge and one piece of bubblegum? Use Systems of equations to solve, either substitution or elimination. EXPLAIN WHY YOU CHOSE TO USE THE METHOD YOU USED AND WHY

2F+ 10B =3.6

multiply 1st by 2 and 2nd by 5

10F +50B = 18

10F + 6B =11.4

subtract to get

44B = 6.6

B = 6.6/44 = 3.3/22 = .3/2 = $0.15 = 15 cents

2F = 3.6-10B = 3.6-1.5 = 2.1

F = 2.1/2 = $1.05

fudge costs $1.05, bubble 15 cents

either method works, less fractions with elimination.
