Below is the balanced equation for the above reaction.
C3H8 (propane) + 5O2 (oxygen) → 3CO2 (carbon dioxide) 4H2O (water)
1 molecue of propnae gives 4 molecules of water.
Now,
convert them into grams.
1 (44 g) of propane gives 4 (18 g ) of water
= 44 g gives 72 g
so if,
44 g gives 72 g
1 g gives 72/44
62.1 g gives 72 / 44 x 62.1
= 101 g
101 g grams of water, H2O, is given off when 62.1g of propane, C3H8 , burns.
Note:
*Its an Unitary method.
*Look at the atomic masses of elements and formula masses of compounds.
