Bizarre question! Is the temperature implied to have boiled off the HCl from the (12N) hydrochloric acid? If so, does it still react with the "excess" CaCO3? And where is the "produced" water measured -- is it the water from the original acid, or that from the reaction H2CO3 = H2O + CO2 ? And why would you even consider the latter, given that "excess " CaCO3 would react only to Ca(HCO3)2 , not liberating ANY additional water?
As I said, a bizarre question. Possibly intended to elicit an argument such as the one above? I don't know.
