asked 03/26/21Chemistry Question
Calculate the yield of CO2 on combustion of propane (based on – propane + O2 gives CO2 and water), starting with 5g of propane and 3g of O2
What is the actual and theoretical yield?

Hello, Abel,
Thanks for updating your question with an answer to the theoretical yield. I decided to try it myself and got 2.48 grams CO2. With sig figs, 2,5 is correct. Oxygen is a limiting reagent. Good job.
To calculate actual yield, there needs to be a value for grams CO2 actually obtained. Divide the actual by the theoretical masses and use that fraction for the percent yield.
Thanks again for your updated calculation,
Bob
