Pn = (n-1)^2 +4 + 3(n-1) = n^2 -2n + 1 + 4 + 3n -3 = n^2 +n +2
Pn = n^2 +n + 2 = n(n+1) + 2
the nth term = n(n+1) + 2
P1 =4
P2 =4+2+2 = 8
P3 = 9+3+2 = 14
P4 = 16+4+2 = 22
if n is even n(n+1) is even. n+1 is odd. but an even times an odd is always even. Add 2 and it's still even
