There was a major Christian Humanism during the Renaissance. Think of Desiderius Erasmus and St Thomas More.So Renaissance humanism is too imprecise. Modern humanism also divides 2 ways depending on its view of God. What maybe distinguishes Modern Humanism is the Scientism that falsely gives it its cachet in many modern minds. But you will find that many people who exalt science do not know much about science.
I worked in the Computer field a long time and was stunned by the silly premises of those who argue for true Artificial Intelligence.
The Renaissance had a division in its Humanism too. There were the Erasmus, More types and there wer the return-to-Classical-Latin types whose archaizing lack of creativity was manifested in subjects outside Latin.
