Actual yield =. 44 grams
Theoretical yield = 2.5 moles ( We need to convert it into grams because our actual yield is in grams)
So to convert moles of CO2 into grams we need the molar mass of CO2, which is 44.01 grams (Mass of 1 mole of CO2)
now we can convert moles of CO2 into grams of CO2 as below
2.5 moles CO2. x 44.01 g = 110.03 g (Theoretical yield in grams)
1 mole CO2
Now plug in the actual yield and Th.yield into the formula. % yield =. Actual Yield. x 100
Theoretical Yield
= 44 g x 100 = 39.99 %
110.03 g
And always we need to watch for the sig figs in our answers ( I do not think the # 44 g for actual yield that you provided is the complete #, so check that in your original question)
