Use the product of zero rule
If ab=0 then a=0 and b=0
Factor
Ask what two numbers give me the product of +6 and sum -5
I could try a neg 2 and a neg 3. Product of two neg numbers equal a positive. When two neg numbers are added it equals a neg number so this works.
(X-2)(x-3)=0
X=2 and x=3
