asked 03/12/21Molar Ratio Problem
2c2h6+7o2 = 4co2+6h2o
What is the molar ratio would you use if you have 2.9 mol O2 and you wanted to know how many moles of CO2 it would make?
Is it:
A = (2 mol C2H6) / (7 mol O2)
B = (7 mol O2 )/ (4 mol CO2)
C = (4 mol CO2) / (7 mol O2)
D = (1 mol CO2) / (2.9 mol O2)

We can find the molar ratio from our balanced chemical equation:
2 C2H6 + 7 O2 ––> 4 CO2 + 6 H2O
From our coefficients, we know that for every 7 mol of O2 that reacts, 4 mol of CO2 are created. Thus, our molar ratio is:
7 mol O2 / 4 mol CO2
So your answer is B
