Hi, Max,
The elements in group 1 all have one valence electron. Of the options you've listed, only potassium is found in this group. Potassium, K, will react with Group 17 elements in a 1:1 ratio. Group 17 elements are all missing just one electron to make a full outer shell (need 8 electrons to fill the outer shell). So if they can find a potassium, they'll steal his lone valence electron, and both are happier.
