Remember this: "A logarithm is an exponent" Since "b" is the exponent, it will be equal to the logarithm. The base of the exponent is "10" and the base stays the same in both the exponential and the logarithm forms. So the conversion of 10b = w is log10(w) = b
log base 10 can be shortened to be just "log" (no base shown defaults to log10) so another way to write your solution is "10b = w is the same as log(w) = b
