The width of a rectangle is 2 feet more than twice its length. If the area of the rectangle is 112 square feet, then find the length and width.

W=2+2L
112 = LW = L(2+2L) = 2L + 2L^2
L^2 + L = 56
L^2 + L + 1/4 = 56.25
(L+1/2)^2 = 56.25
L+1/2 = sqr56.25 = 7.5
L = 7.5-.5 = 7
Length = 7 feet
Width =2+14 = 16 feet
16x7 = 112 ft^2
