A solution of hydrochloric acid is diluted from its a volume of 6.0 L to its new volume of 0.77 L. If its new concentration is 14.4 M, what was the original concentration of this solution in moles per liter?

Hello, Molly,
The relationship for dilution is:
Concentration(start) x Volume(start) = Concentration(final) x Volume(final)
This is commonly written as: C1V1 = C2V2
Set up a table for all the values and then plug them into the equation, solving for the unknown. As per my comment, I' having difficulting with the wording that the solution is beiong "diluted" fro 6 L to 0.77 L. I'll suume you can put the correct numbers into the above equation.
I hope this helps,
Bob
