Question

a number was added to 8.8. this result was then multiplied by 5 and that total was the divided by 0.5. if the quotient was 199, what was that number.

5(N+8.8)/.5 = 199

10N + 88 = 199

10N = 111

N = 11.1 is the number

11.1 + 8.8 = 19.9

19.9 x 5 = 99.5

99.5/.5 = 2 x 99.5 = 199
