5 and 7, 5x7 =35
one method, take square root of 35 which is about 6, then go one larger and one lesser to get 5 and 7
also square root of 35 is almost -6, go one up and down to get -5 and -7 as the 2 consecutive odd integers
or
another method
let x and x+2 be the 2 odd numbers
x(x+2) = x^2 +2x =35
x^2+2x-35 =0
(x+7)(x-5) =0
x = 5
x+2 =7
or x=-7
x+2 =-5
the 2 consecutive odd numbers are either 5 and 7 or -5 and -7
