I would like to know this 4 grade math question:Cindy recycled 54 pounds of paper.she recycled 9 times as many pounds of paper as monica.how many pounds of paper did monica recycle but I would like to see a picture of how to do it and how it should look like.

If Cindy recycled 54 pounds of paper and it was 9 times as many pounds of paper as Monica, you can reword the problem as such:

54 (Cindy) = 9 x ___ (Monica)

In this case you can divide: 54 / 9 = 6lbs

To check your answer, you can do it this way:

2 times as many pounds as 6 is 2 x 6 = 12lbs

3 times as many pounds as 6 is 3 x 6 = 18lbs

4 times as many pounds as 6 is 4 x 6 = 24lbs (and so forth...)

9 times as many pounds as 6 is 9 x 6 = 54lbs.
