To solve this, we need to find the molar mass of NaCl by adding the masses of Na and Cl from the periodic table. Doing this, we find a molar mass for NaCl of 58 g/mol. Now, we simply multiply that mass by the number of moles we were given to cancel out the mol unit and be left with only grams.
58 g/mol x 8.56 x 10-3 mol = 0.496 grams of NaCl
