a₁ = 2.4 m/s²

 

m₂ = 6.3 kg

a₂ = ?

 

The two forces will be the same.  therefore, you set up the equation

 

F₂ = F₁

 

m₂a₂ = m₁a₁

 

a₂ = (m₁a₁ )/ m₂

 

a₂ = [(1.4 kg)(2.4 m/s²)] / 6.3 kg

a₂ = 0.533 m/s²
