How many bones are in each part of your hand?

You have 27 bones in your hand. There are 6 more bones in your fingers than in your wrist. There are 3 fewer bones in your palm than in your wrist. How many bones are in each part of your hand?

I am assuming that the hand in this question is made up of

 

Wrist=w

Finger=w+6

Palm=w-3

 

all these three parts add up to bones in whole hand =27

so...w+w+6+w-3=27

3w+3=27

3w=27-3

3w=24

 

w=8...wrist

w+6=8+6=14...fingers

w-3=8-3=5....palms
