What approach do you or would you use in teaching reading to beginning readers? Whole group basal stories, individual groups, etc..., What successes or failures have you experience in approaches you have used? What do researchers such as Fountas and Pinnell have to say about this ? What are you thoughts and methods you found successful or unsuccessful? Why or why not?

I approach material in a way that student will understand the basic and be able to move on to the next level with confidence. what work for me is including phonics words, pronouncing words, vocabulary and sight words.
