 Ion-Dipole forces are often studied with IMFs. Show the Ion-Dipole forces between one unit of KBr and water molecules. Be sure to arrange everything in the correct orientation! Use dotted lines to show IMFs.

KBr completely dissociates into K+ and Br- in water. Water is polar molecule, with oxygen having a partial negative charge and the hydrogen atoms having a partial positive charge. The partial negative oxygen will form an intermolecular interaction with K+ and the Br- will interact with the partial positive hydrogen atoms.
