A rectangular garden is 9 ft longer than it is wide. Its area is 580 ft2. What are its dimensions?

How about setting up an equation with what you know.  length x width = area    x=x width  x+9=width area= 580 ftsquared, so x(x+9)=580  solve for x.   Is that enough help?
