$14.62 Most taxing government agencies will round up and charge you a full cent tax when it's actually just a part of a cent.
$14.617 gets rounded up to $14.62
The tax is 82.74 cents, or almost 82 3/4 cents, rounded up to 83 cents Add $13.79 to $0.83 sums to $14.62
Multiply 6 times 13.79 to get 82.74 cents. that's the same as 0.06 times $13.79 = $0.8274
Just use a calculator. Or do it by hand. There's a "rule of nines" you can use to check the answer. add up the digits 1+3+7+9 = 20, 2+0 = 2. 2 x 6 = 12. 1+2 = 3. 3 should also be the sum of digits in the answer. 8+2+7+4 = 21 2+1=3. You know you got it correct, as 3 in the problem matches 3 in the answer. At least there's about a 8 out 9 chance you got it right.
