A lever is used to lift a heavy load. When a 500 N force pushes one end of the lever down 1.2 m, the load rises .6 m. What is the approximate mass of the load (not weight)?

Work in = work out. Work in = 500*1.2 = 600 J ... Work out = Mass*g. Doing algebra we find that Mass = 600/g= 61.2 Kg
