The area of a triangle

The area of a triangle is 22 square meters. If the nase of a triangle is 3 meters greater than 2 times the height, find the base and height of the triangle

Area = A = bh/2 = 22

b= 3+2h

A = (3+2h)h/2 = 22

3h + 2h^2 = 44

2h^2 + 3h -44 = 0

(2h+11)(h-4) = 0

h= 4 or -11/2, ignore the negative solution

h= 4 meters

b = 3+2h = 3+2(4) = 11 meters
