The number of moles is just a count of the particles you have (nothing to do with the mass, so that part is just thrown in to mess with you). Avogadro's number (6.022 x 1023 particles) is the number of particles in a mole of those particles. So since there are 6.022 x 1023 atoms of sodium in a mole of sodium:
