Hello, Bri,
The definition of Molar is (moles solute)/1 Liter. We need the molar mass of CuNO3, (125.6 g/mole) in order to determine how many moles of CuNO3 are in 5.880 grams. Use the definition of Molar with the known information where x is the volume of solvent (water) required to yield a 0.100 M solution using all of the moles of CuNO3.
M = moles/Liter
0.100M = 0.047 moles/x
x = 0.468 L (3 sig figs)
Multiply by 1000 to get ml.
I hope this helps,
Bob
