Selena needs to rent a car. The car rental company gives her two options. Option A is to pay $28 a day plus $0.15 a mile and option B is to pay $12 a day and $0.40 a mile. Write and solve an inequality to determine the number of miles where option A will be the cheaper plan

Total cost = C = 28D + 0.15 for option A, for option B: 12D + 0.40M

for one day they are equal when 28+.15M = 12 +.4M or .25M=12, M= 12/.25 = 48 mile is when it doesn't matter which plan you do. If you're driving more than 48 miles in a day, Option A is cheaper. Drive less than 48 miles in a day, Option B is cheaper
