Statistics question using a normal distribution

Question

1.     The honor program at Brad’s university only accepts students with an entrance exam score over 400. What percentage of students would be eligible if the students at Brad’s school have an average score on the exam of 250 and a standard deviation of 80?

This seems like a simple Z score problem. I would calculate the Z score then find the complementary mean related to that score which should be tabulated in your stats book.

The formula for calculating Z score=x–µ/σ

So in this case Z=400-250/80=1.875
