If the width of a rectangle i 2cm more than one-half its length and uts perimeter is 40cm, what are the dimensions?

W= 2 + L/2
2(W+L)=40
2(2+L/2 + L) = 40
4+L+2L = 40
3L = 40-4 =36
L= 36/3 = 12
W=2+L/2 = 2+12/2= 2+6 = 8
width = 8 length = 12
