A friendly college graduate who'd love to help with STEM classes!
This problem is just a unit conversion problem.
I like to set mine up in table sometimes, especially if there are a lot of conversions involved.
We have the US price of gas at $2.26/gallon.
We need to convert the price into pounds. Since $1.35 = 1 £, we have to divide the price by 1.35 in order to convert from dollars to pounds.
2.26 / 1.35 = 1.67 £/gallon
Now we have to convert from gallons to liters. 1 gallon = 3.785 L. In order to convert from gallons to liters, we have to divide the price by 3.785.
1.67 / 3.785 = 0.441 £/L
I hope this helps!

Glad I could help! In the vaguest terms, unit conversions are the easiest when you know the units you have, the units you need, and how to get from one to the other. When I took Chemistry for the first time, my teacher would have us do unit conversions in a 2x3+ table and write out every unit with every conversion. It definitely helped me keep everything straight so it might help you too.08/31/20
