this question is startling as it puts to test the essence of the Christian ethics. The Bible talks about false weights and measures. Integrity is at the center of all business decisions. But often these principals are clouded by serious needs. Also God gives us the gift of wisdom. No matter how dire the situation the ability to seek answers is in the ability to read, seek answers from learned people and be resourceful. Perhaps the person can approach friends and family for funds. Or a barter system may be doable. The potential borrower may offer services in turn for dollars. Also there is service work available, although menial, that offers compensation. The borrower may also be upfront about his ability to pay the vendor back. Perhaps difficult but the honesty will reward far greater than the money.

asked 08/24/20Christian ethics in business
A man finds himself forced by the need to borrow money. He knows very well he will not be able to repay it but he also knows that nothing can be loaned to him if he doesnt firmly promise to repay it at a certain time. He desires to make such a promise but has enough conscience to ask himself whether it is not improper and opposed to the duty to relieve himself of the distress i.e. the need for money.
Using your knowledge in Christian ethics, explain what the man should do. (8 marks)
From a Christian Ethics perspective, explain whether a sensitive person with high moral standards can survive in a compromising financial world. (7 marks)
