Why do the Venuses vary in size? Please explain the reason.

The apparent size of Venus changes by a large amount as it orbits the Sun, sometimes relatively close to Earth and sometimes much farther away from us than the Sun is. Because it has a fixed physical size, the angular diameter or apparent size decreases with increasing distance from the observer.
