The weight R of an object on the moon varies directly as it's weight Z on earth. A man who weights 162.18 lb on earth weighs 27.57 lb on the moon. How much would a 210 lb man weigh on the moon.

This is a proportion.       162 / 27.57 = 210 / W        Cross multiply.      162W = 210 x 27.57

 

162W = 5789.7     162W / 162 = 5789.7 / 162       W = 35.73888889 lb.
