Multi-level Elementary Math Teacher; 18 Years' Teaching Experience
Hello,
Speaking as a WyzAnt tutor myself who has 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring elementary school students of all different grade levels and abilities in the subject of Math, a good first step would be to look over with your child your child's homework assignments, tests, projects, class notes/classwork, and letter grades in Math from the previous school year to see where he/she grew or fell academically throughout the process. Any and all academic materials that you and your child still have on hand will help tremendously in the process of reviewing the math content learned in the 2019-2020 school year before and after the onset of COVID-19.
If there are any tips that your child's teacher gave you as to how well your child performed in any given area of strength of theirs in Math, and/or if there were/are any important bulletpoints of information regarding your child's areas of needed improvement (i.e. your child possibly struggling to attain a specific math skill), make note of those as well going forward.
From there, feel free to reach out to any WyzAnt tutor who you are either matched with algorithmically, who are perhaps located near you geographically (as in the same time zone), and/or have any other standout professional traits to their/our name. After providing the tutor with a detailed summary of what you and your child are looking for or in need of in the area of mathematical instruction for the summertime and possibly going forward into the 2020-2021 school year, then we can connect more easily and take things from there! (You can also provide a written description of the above criteria in your Jobs post for your tutoring needs, displayed publicly for all qualified WyzAnt tutors to view from our side of the network.)
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions at any time! I am more than happy to help you and your child strengthen their abilities in the essential subject area(s) of Math!
