If we have 5.0 mg of nobelium-253 with a half live of 97 sec and the transit time to the reactor is 291 sec. We need to calculate the number of half lives. Divide 291 by 97 and there are 3 half lives. or 2^3. Divide 5.0 mg by 2^3 and that is how much we have remaining on arrival to the lab.
