Your statement is (generally) correct.
To follow the simplification, we need an equation, that is: (something) = (something else)
However, the terms stated in the question, (1/1-sin x + 1/1+sin x), don't include an equals sign!
Without an equation, there is nothing to prove.

NP. Here's how to do it! LHS = 1 / (1 + sin x) + 1 / (1 - sin x) = ((1-sin x) + (1+sin x) ) / (1-sin^2 x) = 2 / cos^2 x Bingo! :-)05/20/20
