I am unfamiliar with the terminology for the second part of your problem but for the first part, you must isolate y using algebraic manipulation, then graph with an x, y table.
for the first graph the equation is x-y=4 this can be rewritten as -y=4-x which can be rewritten as y=x-4 a simple y-x graph shifted downward by 4 units.
the second is a little bit more complex but nothing a little bit of algebra wont solve 5x-3y=8 can be rewritten as -3y=8-5x which, if divided by -3 will isolate y and give you y=(8-5x)/-3 this can be graphed with an x y table or can be simplified further leading to a graph with slope 5/3 and y intercept -8/3
