Since we are given a right triangle we can utilize the Pythagorean theorem a2 + b2 = c2
Where a and b represent the length of the legs of the right triangle and c the the length of the hypotenuse.
In this case a= 13 b=13 and we are looking for c.
By substitution we get the following equation, where we must solve for the variable c.
a2 + b2 = c2
(13)2 + (13)2 = c2
