This is a limiting reactant problem. The brute force way to do this is to do a g->mole->mole-> gram for both reactants. Whichever produces the least product in the LR and that is the answer.
You need the rxn staement : Mg(OH)2 + 2HCl --> MgCl2 + 2H2O
You need the molar masses of Mg(OH)2, MgCl2, and HCl
I will do the process for Mg(OH)2 and leave HCl to you:
16 g Mg(OH)2 (1mole/ 58.32 g)(1mole MgCl2/1 mole Mg(OH)2)( 95.2 g/mole) = 26.12 g MgCl2 (Not necessarily the answer)
Good luck!
