So let p = her regular pay for the first 40 hours. Since she gets time and a half for the remaining 4 hours, you can represent that rate as 1.5p.
So her regular pay is 40p and her overtime pay is 4(1.5p) for a total of 437.
In math that is 40p + 6p = 437......46p = 437.....divide by 46 and get p = 9.5 or in money, $9.50 per hour.
If you want, you can check it.
40 hrs at 9.5 = $380
4 hours at 1.5*(9.50)= $57
380 + 57 = 437.
Hope this helped.
