Beatriz,

Let the cost to ride Berserker be x cents

Shawna has 20*x cents

If cost to ride was (x-25) Shawna could ride 30 times

So the money she has is also (x-25)*30

20x = (x-25)*30

2x = 3x -75

x = 75

So ride costs 75 cents and Shawna has 75*20 = 1500 cents or $15

x=cost to ride 20 times

20x=amount of money Shawna has

x-$0.25=cost to ride 30 times (10 more times)

30(x-$0.25)=amount of money Shawna has

set the amounts equal to each other

20x=30(x-$0.25)

20x=30x-$7.50

$7.50=30x-20x

$7.50=10x

x=$7.50/10

x=$0.75, the cost to ride 20 times

20*$0.75=$15.00 is how much money Shawna has, or...

30*$0.50=$15.00 again
