Shawna is at a state fair. She currently has enough money to ride the Berserker 20 times. if the cost to ride the berserker was 25 cents less, Shawna could ride it 10 more times. How much money does shawna have?

Let the cost to ride Berserker be x cents
Shawna has 20*x cents
If cost to ride was (x-25) Shawna could ride 30 times
So the money she has is also (x-25)*30
20x = (x-25)*30
2x = 3x -75
x = 75
So ride costs 75 cents and Shawna has 75*20 = 1500 cents or $15

20x=amount of money Shawna has
x-$0.25=cost to ride 30 times (10 more times)
30(x-$0.25)=amount of money Shawna has
set the amounts equal to each other
20x=30(x-$0.25)
20x=30x-$7.50
$7.50=30x-20x
$7.50=10x
x=$7.50/10
x=$0.75, the cost to ride 20 times
20*$0.75=$15.00 is how much money Shawna has, or...
30*$0.50=$15.00 again
