To answer this question, you have to multiply the number of atoms each element (Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen) has in the compound by the element's molecular weight (found on the periodic table).
Carbon has a molecular weight about 12
Hydrogen has a molecular weight about 1
Oxygen has a molecular weight about 16
so...
(13 carbon atoms * 12grams/mol) + (20 Hydrogen atoms * 1 gram/mol) + (2 Oxygen atoms * 16 grams/mol) = molar mass of the compound. (Your teacher may want you to use the precise atomic mass for each of these elements, and not the approximate value I've given, but the formula is the same).
