Please provide more specific information about the type of problem(s) you are trying to solve and I can be of more help.
I am only guessing, but if you are combining terms of x and constants, the problem is solved the same way you would in an equation with an = sign (an equality) with one important exception. If you multiply or divide by a negative number, the direction of the inequality sign must be reversed. Below, I will illustrate this using a couple of examples.
============================================================================
(1)
3x + 5 - 7x - 17 ≤ 8 - 2x
-4x - 12 ≤ 8 - 2x
-2x ≤ -20
divide both sides by (-2) and reverse the direction of the inequality sign
-2x / -2 ≥ -20 / -2
x ≥ 10 is the result.
==========================================================================
(2)
x - 6 + 4x + 3 > 8x + 9
5x - 3 > 8x + 9
-3x > 12
divide both sides by (-3) and reverse the direction of the inequality sign
-3x / -3 < 12/ -3
x < -4 is the result.
