If the distance from your friend's house to the nearest Chuck E. Cheese is 3 fathoms and you know that you can jog an average of 4 fathoms per hour, how many minutes would it take to jog from your friend's house to the nearest Chuck E. Cheese if you jog at average speed?

So the idea here is that because you can jog at 4 fph but only need to travel 3 fathoms, you'll get there in less than an hour.

 

So you divide your distance 3 by your rate 4 fph, and you get your time, 3/4 of an hour.

 

distance divided by rate = time.

 

Oh, and 3/4 of an hour = 3/4 of 60 minutes = 45 minutes.
