Question 2 is definitely possible as for the first question I don't think motion accepts midi.

asked 11/27/19This seems like a complicated question to me, but that may be because I'm a beginner. I'll start by describing my goal, which may help lead to an answer:
I would like to create lyric videos easily and quickly using Apple Motion. Generally, these involve word-based animations (ie a word animates into place precisely in time with the delivery of each word in the song).
To reduce the time required for manually entry of each word, I would like to use a MIDI track. It is quite easy to manually enter the timing of the words on a midi keyboard attached to my computer. Question number 1 is: is this possible to do in Motion? Is it also possible to record the midi track in motion?
Question number 2 is: can I create a custom animation that triggers upon every word entry/midi trigger?
Creatively, here is what I would like to do. I want to have 3D words fade into place and grow quickly in the z dimension when the word is pronounced in the song. There are about 400 words in this (rap) song, so I was hoping this complex process would reduce the labor required in the long run.
Another thing I am hoping this process does is enable me to make a single change to the custom animation in order to change the animation of every word(without having to go through and change every one). Is this possible?
Thanks in advance!
