By definition, a chemical change involves a chemical reaction that changes the chemical composition of a substance. A physical property is a characteristic of matter such as odor, melting point, etc. Therefore with a physical change, the subject/substance can be returned to it's original state, whereas a chemical change cannot be reversible.

Hi Amira A., the question is a little awkwardly phrased, but you're being asked which situation describes a CHEMICAL as opposed to a PHYSICAL change. Physical = position, shape, phase (solid, liquid, gas) -- hope this gives you a hint!12/22/19
